2008 METU NINB

Elginkan Foundation was the main sponsor also in 2008 of "New Ideas New Businesses Entreprenurship Contest", which was organized by the Middle East Technical University, was held successfully for the first time in 2005, and continued with increasing success in 2006 and 2007.

Fourth "New Ideas New Businesses" Entrepreneurship contest was concluded with the final ceremony held in November 15 2008.  BİYONESİL Group became the champion among four teams that made to the finals.  Biyonesil team composed for four young ladies became the owner of 75.000 TL Technology Award of our Foundation, 50.000 TL Undersecretariat for Defense Industries Special Award and the right to operate as company for 3 years within METU Teknokent with its project titled "Bionic Mine Detection System".

The project titled "Bionic Mine Detection System" enables mines buried in soil to glow noticeably by dropping genetically modified microorganisms on soil from plane.  Detection of mines via BMTS both ensures a great deal of material saving and claims to end loss of life and property.

Elginkan Foundation will provide support valued at 75.000 TL to be paid gradually to BİYONESİL Group that won the award in order for them to commence production.
