2009 Turkish Culture Research and Technology Awards
We organized in 2009 the fourth application of Turkish Culture Research and Technology Awards, which was realized in 2006 for the first time by our Foundation in order to support researches, works and services in Turkish culture and technology area.
We will grant 40.000 TL cash award for each to winning researcher and researcher group in Turkish culture and technology areas.
The owners of rewards, who were submitted for approval of the Foundation Board as a result of evaluations made by the Committee for the Elginkan Foundation Turkish Culture Research Award, and approved by the Foundation Board, are as follows:
Turkish Culture Research Award was granted to:
• Aegean University Turkish World Research Institute Director and Head of the Department of Turkish National Science Prof.Dr. Fikret Türkmen for his studies in culture, folklore, literature, art, language and history,
• Retired Associate of Mimar Sinan University Prof. H. C. Uğur Derman for his studies he has conducted for promotion of Turkish Calligraphy,
• Ex Head of Department of the Faculty of Letters of Ege University Assis. Prof. Dr. Hatice Şirin User for his book "Köktürk ve Ötüken Uygur Kağanlığı Yazıtları", and the award amount was shared among these persons.
The owners of rewards, who were submitted for approval of the Foundation Board as a result of evaluations made by the Committee for the Elginkan Foundation Technology Award, and approved by the Foundation Board, are as follows:
Technology Award was given to:
• Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Avni Öktem, Middle East Technical University Biology Department Associate and Chairman of Nanabiz Biyo Teknolojik Sistemler Eğitim Bilişim Danışmanlık Ar-Ge San. Tic. Ltd. Şti. for his studies titled "Development of new generation unlabelled method for cancer diagnosis and detection of telomerase activity amount",
• Anadolu University Department of Material Science and Engineering Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ender Suvacı for his project "Development of production technologies of cores (Anisometric Ceramic Powders) to be used in production of superior new generation lead-free piezoceramics",
• Gaziantep University Associates Prof. Dr. Nihat Yıldırım, Prof. Dr. Fahrettin Göğüş and Prof. Dr. Sadettin Kapucu for their projects titled "Leakage Oil Separation System", and the award amount was shared among these persons.
