BOLU ELGİNKAN FOUNDATION VOCATIONAL AND TECHNICAL TRAINING CENTRE
The old Apprenticeship Training Centre building, which was located within Bolu Organized Industrial Zone, and was not used although it did not have serious damage in November 1999 earthquake, was allocated to the Elginkan Foundation through protocol for 4 years for establishment and managing of a Vocational and Technical Training Centre with the suggestion of Bolu Municipality. Elginkan foundation performed repair, maintenance and furnishing of this building. Following formation of workshops and laboratories, our Training Centre was put into service in October 16 2003 with the participation of the Esteemed Governor of Bolu, Deputies, Mayor, Members of the Board of Management of the Elginkan Foundation, Civil and Military Officials of Bolu and Industrialists. No vocational training unit was opened since there was already a Vocational Training Centre in Central Bolu, which was sufficient for Bolu province. On the other hand, by considering the characteristics of the region, a ready wear workshop, which was planned to provide training also in textile area, in order to meet the regional requirements, and an electrical and electronic laboratory, a welding workshop and a computer laboratory were established in order to meet other requirements.
Having gone into service in October 16 2003, our Training Centre continues its activities intensively under three major topics in line with the purposes of our Foundation.
