KANDILLI OBSERVATORY

TURKISH MANUSCRIPT WORKS IN KANDİLLİ OBSERVATORY AND EARTHQUAKE RESEARCH INSTITUTE LIBRARY

Elginkan Foundation funded the work 'Turkish Manuscripts in Kandilli Observatory and Earthquake Research Institute Library' by the Lecturers of Boğaziçi University. The collection contains several manuscripts which are single or rare copies from 15th century.

 THE MINDS I

'The Mind's I'is  a classic work on brain and cognitive sciences, philosophy of mind and artificial intelligence. The Community supported Boğaziçi University Publishing House through publishing process including Copyright, Translation, Proofreading and Printing.

BU BOOK PRINTING

Boğaziçi University Publishing House published a collection of  science books  aiming to arose people’s curiosity of all ages in science.   Elginkan Foundation funded the publishing of series.

These books have been donated to libraries of Science High Schools, Anatolian High Schools and Social Sciences High School.

REPUBLICAN TURKISH CULTURE

'REPUBLICAN PERIOD TURKISH CULTURE- PERIOD OF ATATÜRK (1920-1938)' PREPARED BY ATATÜRK CULTURAL CENTRE

The work, which was prepared by 110 experts from different disciplines, was materialized with the support of the Elginkan Foundation. " Republican Period, Turkish Culture-Period of Atatürk (1920-1938)" which composed of 16 chapters and 1440 pages discusses Turkey’s cultural life during Atatürk’s Era.

'Republican Period, Turkish Culture-Period of Atatürk (1920-1938)' has been donated to Provincial and District Public Libraries, University Libraries, and Libraries of Anatolian High Schools, Social High Schools and Science High Schools by our Foundation.

OTTOMAN HANDWRITING

SUPPORTING OF THE PROJECT 'IDENTIFICATION OF OTTOMAN HANDWRITTEN DOCUMENTS’

The project 'Translation of Printed/Handwritten Ottoman texts into Latin letter Turkish by using artificial intelligence based image processing techniques and smart database' led by Prof. Dr. Osman Nuri Uçan and Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kala in order to benefit from 16th century manuscripts with a detailed cultural study was supported by the Elginkan Foundation. The project was successfuly concluded in 20.05.2009.
